East Sac Garden Tour

Beneficiaries

David Lubin believed that if he helped others, he would benefit as well, so it is fitting that the East Sacramento Garden Tour benefits the school named in his honor. By attending the tour, you support ever expanding enrichment and academic programs at David Lubin Elementary School. The mission of the school is to create an inclusive school community, a community which values its school’s diversity of languages, cultures, religions, learning styles and socioeconomics levels. Mr. Lubin would have been proud of the mission of David Lubin Elementary School. By participating each Mother’s Day weekend in the East Sacramento Garden Tour, you continue Mr. Lubin’s philosophy of helping others.

How do such programs help the students of David Lubin? Students may participate in activities that develop their individual needs or interests in a variety of areas.

ACADEMIC OUTREACH, such as the Children Assistance Program aides, creates smaller group settings enabling students to participate in instruction tailored to their specific academic needs. Perhaps this is just the extra mentoring a child may need to encourage them to believe in themselves and go on to college.

THE AFTER SCHOOL ARTS ACADEMY provides music and drama to interested students and may be the experience a budding young thespian or musician needs beyond the academics of the classroom. Chorus, violin, guitar and drama (a spring production) provide opportunities for self expression.

OUR SCHOOL-WIDE ART DOCENT, Miss Jane, provides every classroom on campus with exciting and completely hands-on art lessons complimented by art history classes that relate directly to grade level standards.

THE SCHOOL GARDEN AND COOKING provides classrooms an opportunity to get involved with the two school gardens in addition to participating in cooking classes taught by our garden docents. In fact, parents love how their children now want to help out in the kitchen!

NEW AFTER SCHOOL PROGRAMS have been added to the school experience. The purpose is to reach out and involve more students. Spanish, knitting/material crafts and Mad Science are classes currently being offered. The spring offerings include Lego Club, Chess and more!

The students of David Lubin thank you!
